Debby Bird

Debby Bird is a talented artist specializing in watercolor and oil painting, known for her ability to capture the extraordinary moments of ordinary life. Growing up in the Appalachian region of Kentucky in an artistic family, Debby was surrounded by creativity from a young age. Her mother and grandmother were trained artists who nurtured her passion, leading her to draw constantly from the age of two.

At just eight years old, Debby was learning observational drawing techniques in her father’s science lab, impressively mastering the intricacies of subjects like fleas, often with greater accuracy than his biology students. This keen observation and attention to detail have been hallmarks of her artistic style.

Debby later pursued her education at the University of Kentucky, where she majored in Architecture and minored in Art Studio. She further honed her skills in classical realism at Agile Arts Atelier and through various workshops and classes. Her dedication and talent have been recognized through numerous awards in national competitions, including accolades from the Portrait Society of America's Members Only Competition and Gamblin's Torrit Grey Competition.

Her artwork is part of both private and public collections across the United States. Currently residing in Palm Coast, Florida, Debby balances her careers as an architect and a professional portrait painter while being a mother of three. She is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Sacred Arts from Pontifex University, continuing her lifelong journey of artistic exploration.
